Born into a family of ikat makers, Muhammad Hamdan and Maria Leoni has experience in selling Indonesian ikat fabrics. At first, they often helps in promoting their family’s fabrics to their colleagues. As time went by, the family decided to trademark their traditional ikat fabric and register them in HAKI, under the brand name “Kainratu”.

Now, Kainratu has ventured into the online market. Kainratu empowers local and village communities in their business as an effort to increase their income and welfare of these artisans. We hope to preserve Indonesian culture by continuing to guide aspiring professional weavers in the village to create new motifs. Abandoning uniformity to craft unique and distinc fabric design.
